The God Hunter Team The heart behind Simi’s journey

The God Hunter was created by two writers who share a desire to help children understand that God is loving, personal, and near—even when life feels painful or uncertain.

Franella Smith

Bringing faith, compassion, and imagination together.

Franella Smith is a registered and licensed dietitian with more than 25 years of professional experience. She completed her undergraduate studies in Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of New Haven and her graduate internship at Hampton University.

Franella earned her Master of Fine Arts from Southern New Hampshire University in 2015. Her master’s thesis won first place in the NewLook Writing Contest that same year. She enjoys cooking, reading, photography, traveling, spending time with her family, and hanging out with her miniature Schnauzer, Winston.

Annette Marie Griffin

Writing timeless stories that help readers find home.

Annette Marie Griffin is an award-winning author who writes meaningful stories for children and families. She is also an acquisitions editor and columnist for StarLight Magazine and teaches writing workshops at local and national conferences.

Her passion is helping young readers discover the God who loves them and understand who He created them to be. When Annette is not working on a story, she enjoys making memories with her husband, five adult children, and three grandchildren.

Dr Katherine Hutchnison-Hayes

Helping children discover the power of imagination through art and storytelling

Dr Katherine Hutchinson-Hayes is an illustrator, muralist, author, and art educator who grew up in a family of artists-both of her parents were creatives who inspired her lifelong love of visual storytelling.

She has more than 20 years of experience in creating and teaching art. She designs book covers and illustrates children's picture books, creating artwork that brings stories to life for young readers.

“Writing is more than creativity; it is stewardship. Whether you write stories, devotionals, poetry, or articles, your words can carry hope, healing, and truth into dark places. The world does not need perfection. It needs authentic voices willing to trust God through the process.”
